Mitsumi Distribution has entered into a partnership with Dell Technologies aimed at boosting the use of artificial intelligence (AI) applications across various sectors of the economy.
The collaboration between the two tech giants aims to offer innovative workshops to promote the adoption of AI, particularly in the healthcare sector. Rajveer Shah, Director of Mitsumi Distribution, stated that they have recruited skilled data scientists and engineers to provide training on AI and its applications in Kenya, with the goal of strengthening Africa’s AI capabilities.
“Mitsumi Distribution is committed to leveraging AI to drive transformation across various sectors in Africa, including healthcare, financial services, governance, public services, and more. We are ready to utilize our expertise and resources to help industries embrace AI and unleash its full potential,” said Shah.
Key stakeholders in the health sector, such as hospitals and healthcare service providers, have recognized AI’s transformative potential in improving disease detection, streamlining processes, and ultimately raising patient care standards.
Arshad Farhad, Chief Technology Officer overseeing Dell Technologies’ Healthcare & Life sciences sector in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, highlighted a range of AI technologies, with a special focus on Generative Artificial Intelligence.
“The aim of AI is to enhance the capabilities of clinicians and improve clinical outcomes, rather than replacing them,” he explained.
Farhad also emphasized the necessary skill sets, privacy concerns, and the transformative impact these technologies could have on both Kenya’s and Africa’s healthcare systems.
