WhatsApp, a messaging application under the parent company Meta, has introduced a new feature allowing users to undo the ‘delete for me’ option.
“Ever meant to delete a message for everyone, but deleted it just for you? Well, now you can undo it. Yep, deleting never felt so good,” WhatsApp announced.
In an illustrative video shared by WhatsApp, the process is demonstrated: after a user mistakenly selects ‘delete for me,’ an option to undo the action appears. By tapping ‘undo’ within five seconds, the deleted message reappears, giving the user the chance to correctly select ‘delete for everyone.’
“This is particularly useful if you sent a message to the wrong chat or the message you sent contains a mistake. As a group admin, you can remove problematic messages in a chat,” WhatsApp added.
This feature aims to assist users in correcting errors when attempting to delete messages for everyone in a chat, enhancing user control and reducing the likelihood of message mishaps.
