Stanley Cheruiyot, a 29-year-old pedophile serving a life sentence at Nakuru GK Prison, has mysteriously escaped while awaiting surgery at Nakuru Level Five Hospital.
Cheruiyot, who was admitted to the orthopedic ward for a corrective surgery scheduled later this week, managed to flee despite being chained by his arm and leg to the bed.
Hospital staff discovered only one handcuff remaining, the one that had been attached to his arm. It remains unclear how Cheruiyot outsmarted the security measures, as prison warders assert that he was under 24-hour surveillance.
Senior officials at Nakuru GK Prison have so far declined to comment on the incident.
