The government has released a list of 32 recruitment agencies that Kenyans are urged to avoid when seeking jobs abroad, amid a surge in cases of job seekers being exploited by rogue operators.
Labour Cabinet Secretary Dr. Alfred Mutua revealed the blacklist while addressing the Senate Committee on Labour and Social Welfare on Tuesday. He noted that many of the flagged firms were either unregistered or operating with expired licenses.
In addition to the blacklist, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has launched probes into 153 suspect agencies, with possible prosecutions expected.
Among the deregistered agencies are Gulfway Recruitment Company Limited, Royal Capital Placement Limited, Geoverah Agency Limited, First Choice Recruitment and Consultancy Limited, Daawo Holdings Limited, Makungu International Limited, and Talent Getaway Limited.
Other firms named include Jakarta Ventures Limited, Skill Dove Limited, Gifted Minds Tours Travel Limited, Tangofox Limited, Alemtyaz Travel Agent Limited, Rhodevo International Limited, Flexturch Recruitment Limited, Omran Aly Agencies Limited, Alsari International, and Leisamis Recruiters.
Also blacklisted are Skyward Global Dimensions Limited, Kalezon Limited, Abamwe Investments Limited, Mastermind Ventures Limited, Broadlink Travels Agency Limited, Kistamu Agency Limited, Global Career Crew Listings, Mega Recruitment Limited, and Novice Global Consultancy Limited.
The list is rounded out by Mowasalat Mapower Limited, Vintmark Travel Agency Limited, Trustpin Verified Agency Limited, and Man and Swa Recruitment Palace.
