Kenyans on social media were on Monday gripped by a new twist in the unfolding drama between media personalities Koku Lwanga and Daddie Marto, after Koku’s alleged father-in-law slid into her DMs with scathing criticism over her public accusations of domestic abuse and infidelity.
In a series of emotional Instagram Stories early Monday, Koku accused her estranged partner, Daddie Marto, of being a wife-batterer and serial cheat. She stated that she had endured abuse in silence for too long, finally deciding to speak out for the sake of her well-being and her children.
However, shortly after her revelations went viral, Koku revealed that her alleged father-in-law privately messaged her, condemning her decision to go public with her marital issues.
According to Koku, the man labeled her a “pathetic mother” and accused her of failing to consider the psychological impact her social media exposé would have on her children. He reportedly told her that her actions were “shameful and reckless” and that she should have handled the matter quietly for the sake of the family’s dignity.
Daddie Marto has since responded to the allegations through his social media platforms, calling Koku’s claims “misleading, one-sided, and deeply damaging.” He denied the accusations, expressing disappointment at the way private matters were being aired out in public.
