Tanzanian singer Zuchu has publicly accused the Confederation of African Football (CAF) of failing to settle an agreed balance for her headline performance at the CHAN finals held on August 30, 2025, at Kasarani Stadium, Nairobi.
In a strongly worded statement posted on her social media pages, the Sukari hitmaker alleged that both CAF and its contracted intermediary, LEAP Creative Agency, have yet to honor the financial terms of their agreement.
Zuchu Says Balance Remains Unpaid
According to the singer, her management signed an agreement with CAF’s agents at LEAP Creative, which stipulated that the full balance would be paid immediately after the performance.
Despite repeated follow-ups, Zuchu claims that her team has not received the payment. Instead, they were allegedly sent proof of payment documents that turned out to be unverifiable and suspicious.
“I sacrificed previously booked shows to dedicate myself to the CHAN finale, only to face unprofessional and unfair treatment,” Zuchu lamented.
Allegations Against LEAP Creative
The artist further revealed that her management has been in constant communication with Roshan Soomarshun, CEO of LEAP Creative, as well as other representatives, but their efforts have not yielded results.
She accused both CAF and its agency of misleading her team, describing the entire ordeal as a breach of trust that undermines artists who work hard to represent African music on international stages.
CAF Yet to Respond
As of Thursday evening, neither CAF nor LEAP Creative Agency had issued an official response to the claims.
The controversy has sparked debate online, with fans and industry stakeholders calling for greater accountability from African football bodies and their contractors when engaging artists for major tournaments.
