A 32-year-old man was struck and killed while attempting to separate a fighting couple in Malinya village, Kakamega County.
According to police, Owen Savai rushed to a neighbour’s home on Thursday after hearing a commotion and finding the couple locked in a heated altercation. During the confrontation, the male partner allegedly picked up a wooden stick and hit Savai on the head, fatally injuring him.
Savai was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police have moved the body to the mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.
The suspected attacker fled the scene immediately after the incident and, as of Friday, had not yet been arrested, authorities said.
