Popular dancer and content creator Andy “Kabuda” Shahonyo has fired back at mental health activist Bravin Yuri, who recently criticised his eating habits in a viral online video.
Bravin had urged Kabuda to take his health seriously, warning that an unhealthy lifestyle would eventually catch up with him.
“Your body is taking stock of what you are doing. Sooner or later, you are going to pay the price,” Bravin cautioned.
But Kabuda, known for his humorous and carefree personality, dismissed the warning with an equally viral Instagram response:
“Mwili mpya tutapewa binguni, achana na mimi. I live by the Grace of God.”
Rise From Matatu Tout to Internet Sensation
Kabuda recently opened up about his journey to stardom, revealing that before fame, he worked as a matatu tout for seven years. Even then, he was already entertaining passengers with dance routines inside Nairobi minibuses.
“I would dance for commuters… the creative bug has always been in me,” he said.
His breakthrough came when a video of him dancing to the popular gospel hit “Mzabibu” went viral, catapulting him into the limelight and growing his fanbase almost overnight.
The Kasarani-born star credits all his success to his faith.
“Were it not for God’s grace, I wouldn’t be where I am,” he said.
