Benson Omalla Set for KPL Return After Signing for Nairobi United

Former Gor Mahia striker and Harambee Stars forward Benson Omalla is set to make a return to the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) after completing a move to newly promoted side Nairobi United.

The transfer marks another chapter in the eventful career of one of Kenya’s most prolific forwards in recent seasons, following a short and difficult spell abroad in the Cambodian Premier League with Visakha FC.

Omalla’s comeback to local football comes just months after he mutually parted ways with the Cambodian outfit, which he joined in July 2025 on a three-year contract after leaving Gor Mahia.

However, his stay in Phnom Penh proved short-lived. The 24-year-old striker managed eight league appearances, scoring three goals, before both parties agreed to terminate the contract in December.

Nairobi United will now be hoping Omalla’s experience and goal-scoring ability will boost their campaign as they prepare for life in the top flight.
