Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has declined to approve a planned visit by a group of young people to his Ichaweri home in Ichaweri, Gatundu.
In a statement issued on Sunday, February 22, his Secretary of Communication, Kanze Dena, confirmed that the former Head of State is not in a position to host the group at this time.
Call for Proper Communication
Kanze urged organisers of similar initiatives to formally communicate with the Office of the Former President well in advance to allow for necessary arrangements.
She emphasised that proper coordination is essential to ensure security, protocol and smooth engagement whenever such visits are planned.
Open to Engagement
Despite declining the Sunday visit, Kanze noted that the former president remains open to meeting Kenyans to deliberate on matters that promote unity, mutual respect and national cohesion.
The clarification comes amid heightened public interest in the former president’s engagements and interactions with different groups across the country.
