Khalif Kairo has sparked widespread discussion on social media after revealing that he turned down a chief executive officer position paying KSh900,000 per month, despite publicly acknowledging his ongoing financial challenges.
The revelation came after an X user suggested that Kairo should accept a KSh400,000 monthly position at Car Soko, arguing that his experience and reputation in Kenya’s automotive industry would help the company attract customers while giving him an opportunity to rebuild financially.
Responding to the suggestion, Kairo disclosed that he had recently declined an even more lucrative offer.
“I was offered a CEO position a few weeks ago at KSh900,000 per month and I declined,” he wrote on X.
The businessman did not disclose the identity of the company that made the offer or explain in detail why he chose not to accept the role.
Shift to Aviation
Kairo has recently shifted his focus from the motor vehicle business to the aviation sector after training as a pilot.
He has announced plans to venture into the private jet charter business, describing it as the next phase of his entrepreneurial journey.
The latest disclosure has generated mixed reactions online, with some social media users praising his decision to pursue entrepreneurship despite the financial risks, while others questioned why he would reject a high-paying executive position while facing reported financial difficulties.
