Kipkelion — The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has arrested two officers attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Kipkelion Sub-County Offices over allegations of soliciting and receiving a bribe.
The suspects, identified as Corporal Wesley Korir and Corporal Christopher Maina, are accused of demanding KSh500,000 from a complainant in exchange for allegedly terminating a murder case against him.
According to the EACC, preliminary investigations led to an operation targeting the two officers after the bribery allegations were reported.

The anti-corruption agency said the two officers were arrested earlier on Thursday while allegedly receiving KSh120,000, part of the money they had reportedly demanded.
The arrests followed an operation conducted by EACC investigators as they pursued evidence relating to the alleged bribery scheme.
Korir and Maina were subsequently processed at the EACC South Rift Regional Office.
The two officers were later released on KSh30,000 cash bail each as investigations continue.
The EACC is expected to complete its investigations before determining the next legal steps against the suspects.
