Social media has been awash with stories the whole week that former Soy Mp Caleb Kositany has been appointed the US Ambassador. A number of Facebook political groups especially those on Rift Valley politics have been congratulating the former Mp.

While no such announcement has been made, the rhetoric has upped expectations that may be Kositany has been informed of his appointment given that he is a close ally to the president. Well we have reached out to him and he had dismissed the claims.

‘Government appoints through a gazette notice, ignore the rumours,” he said.

Kositany served as the Soy Member of Parliament between 2017-2022.

In 2022, he was seeking to run for the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial post but lost during the UDA nominations to Jonathan Bii who is the current governor.
