Ruto appoints commitee that will recruit new IEBC chair and commissioners

President William Ruto has named a 7-member panel that will recruit the next IEBC chair and 6 new commissioners.

The appointment was made in a gazette notice dated February 27.

The selection panel will include representative of Parliamentary Service Commission, political parties liason committee, the Law Society of Kenya among others. 

Parliamentary Service Commission will be represented by Euralia Atieno and Bethuel Sugut. 

Evans Misati James has been named to represent the Political Parties Liaison Committee. 

The law society of Kenya will be represented by Benson Ngugi Njeri of Igeria and Ngugi advocates. 

Others named to the panel are Charity Kisotu, Nelson Makanda and Fatuma Saman. 

The panel will shortlist and nominate the next IEBC bosses who will serve for a period of six years, non renewable term.
