Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan has fired back at people who are claiming that she got married fast out of pressure.

Zari claimed that there are people saying she had a traditional Islamic wedding – Nikkah – just because someone else in another country got married.

“Shakib did not just wake up and decide to marry me out of pressure, just because someone in another country got married. It is not a competition. Was that the first person to get married?”

The socialite revealed that last year Shakib jokingly said he wanted to marry her and this time during Ramadan when he visited South Africa, he arranged everything with the Sheikh, and in 48 hours everything was ready.

Zari Hassan and Shakib Lutaaya got married in a private ceremony in South Africa.

In a video shared on social media, Shakib was captured putting a ring on Zari’s finger. He then shared a photo captioned: “Happy is the man who finds a true friend. Congrats the Lutaayas.”
