The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) will see a change in leadership as David Mugonyi takes on the role of Director General, succeeding Ezra Chiloba, who resigned in October.
The appointment was made by ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo, and it follows a letter from the Chief of Staff and Head of the Public Service dated December 19, 2023, granting approval for Mugonyi’s appointment.
Currently serving as the Head of the Presidential Communication Service, Mugonyi brings a wealth of experience to the CA.
The official statement from CS Owalo acknowledged the appointment and highlighted Mugonyi’s new responsibilities as the Chief Executive Officer and Accounting Officer of the Authority. In this role, Mugonyi will oversee the day-to-day operations, provide overall leadership, and serve as the spokesperson for the Authority on operational matters.
Ezra Chiloba, who held the position for a two-year tenure, resigned on October 18 after being accused of corruption.
