A police officer from Keringet Police Station in Nakuru was apprehended after a confrontation with his superiors and colleagues took a violent turn.
As detailed in police reports, the junior officer arrived at the station on Saturday evening to inquire about a specific prisoner he had personally taken to the Officer Commanding Station’s (OCS) office. Disagreements ensued among the colleagues, escalating the situation into a physical altercation between the two officers.
Amidst the commotion, screams rang out from the station, alerting other officers nearby. Upon arrival, they discovered one officer forcefully striking his colleague against the wall, grabbing him by the collar.
The colleagues intervened swiftly, managing to separate the brawling officers and subdue the aggressive cop. The OCS swiftly arrived at the station to investigate the incident.
However, the suspect continued to act belligerently, threatening physical confrontation with his boss and resorting to verbal insults.
One of the officers involved in the altercation sustained injuries, including a head wound, and was promptly taken to Keringet Sub-County Hospital. Fortunately, the report indicates that the injured officer is presently in stable condition.
Meanwhile, the suspect was taken into custody pending disciplinary measures. Initial investigations suggested that the officer was heavily intoxicated before his arrival at the station, potentially contributing to the altercation.
