Kabras Sugar cemented their position as Kenya Cup titans with a colossal 88-3 victory over Strathmore Leos at Strathmore Grounds. David Bunduki emerged the undisputed star of the show, claiming a hat-trick, while Jeason Misoga and Brian Mutua chipped in with two tries each.
Kabras asserted their dominance from the get-go, with Misoga opening the scoring after a powerful run that left the Leos defense helpless.
Tries from William Mwanji and Brian Juma, both converted by Ntabeni Dukisa, extended the lead to 21-0. Bunduki then joined the party with two tries before the break, sending Kabras into halftime with a commanding 42-3 advantage.
The second half was a one-sided affair, with Kabras adding another six tries through Alfred Orege, Walter Okoth, Patrick Lumumba, and Mutua’s brace.
Dukisa and Barry Robinson’s conversions further inflated the scoreline, ultimately sealing an emphatic 88-3 win for the defending champions. This dominant performance keeps Kabras atop the Kenya Cup standings with a convincing 30 points.
KCB Edge Nakuru in a Nail-biter
At Nakuru Athletics Club, KCB edged out their hosts Nakuru RFC 20-12 in a tightly contested match. Despite failing to secure bonus points, the Bankers inched closer to Kabras with 29 points in the standings.
Nakuru drew first blood with a seven-point lead, but KCB displayed resilience, clawing their way back with tries from Andy Omondi and Darwin Mukidza. Brian Wahinya and Kenya 7s star Festus Shiai’s tries, the latter converted, stretched KCB’s lead to 20-7. A late try by Nakuru narrowed the gap, but it wasn’t enough to snatch victory from KCB.
Oilers End Kisumu’s Unbeaten Run
Menengai Oilers put an end to Kisumu RFC’s unbeaten run with a convincing 48-7 win at Moi Grounds in Nakuru. The result sees Oilers climb to third place in the Kenya Cup standings with 22 points, while Kisumu’s undefeated streak comes to a disappointing halt.
The Oilers dominated the match from the outset, scoring seven tries through various players. Kisumu managed a solitary try, but it proved to be a mere consolation as Oilers cruised to a comfortable victory.
