Renowned Kenyan blogger and Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly (MCA), Robert Alai, has weighed in on the recent controversy involving popular YouTuber Eve Mungai and Director Trevor.

Alai, known for his outspoken nature, urged Mungai to take legal action against Trevor after he announced the termination of their professional partnership.

In a statement shared on social media, Alai emphasized Mungai’s right to pursue legal recourse to reclaim ownership of her social media channels, which she had diligently built over time. He recalled numerous interactions with Mungai while covering stories, highlighting her significant presence within the media community.

Alai underscored Mungai’s efforts in nurturing and expanding her online platforms, attributing their success to her dedication and sacrifices. He pointed out that Mungai had invested considerable time and energy in developing her online persona, making her channels an integral part of her personal brand.

“Eve Mungai should sue Trevor and recover all her pages. Eve Mungai built the pages using her image and went to great lengths to sacrifice everything for the pages to grow. ”

“I remember how many times we interacted with her while chasing a story. She shouldn’t let the channels go that easily,” he wrote.

The controversy arose after Director Trevor announced on Instagram that he would be taking over the YouTube channel previously co-managed with Mungai. Alai’s statement echoes sentiments shared by many who believe that Mungai should not relinquish control of her channels easily, considering the substantial effort she has invested in their growth.

Alai also referenced relevant sections of the Kenyan Employment Act, highlighting the legal considerations surrounding termination of employment. He noted that Trevor’s actions may be subject to legal scrutiny, particularly if Mungai chooses to pursue legal action.

Overall, Alai’s intervention adds a new dimension to the ongoing dispute, emphasizing the importance of protecting individuals’ rights and interests in the digital sphere.
