Two women were killed and a third was seriously injured in a stabbing attack at an apartment building in Canada Thursday morning, local media reported.
The suspect, a 44-year-old man, was arrested at the scene by police, CTV News reported, adding that one of the victims was his 68-year-old mother, while the other two women lived in the same apartment building west of Montreal.
The mother and a 53-year-old woman were pronounced dead at the scene of the armed assault in Vaudreuil-Dorion, an off-island suburb of Montreal. The third victim, a 70-year-old woman, was sent to a hospital in critical condition, according to the report.
The report quoted the provincial police as saying that the suspect was also hospitalized for minor injuries and will be questioned later by investigators
