Former Citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe has been appointed the head of communications at the Ministry of Public Service and Delivery.
Maribe, a former news anchor was acquitted last month after spending six years on tbe dock over the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.
Her appointment at the Ministry has been confirmed by Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria.
“It is the right thing to do. This is a country of equal opportunities,” said Kuria.
While acquitting her last month, Justice Grace Nzioka found and held that the prosecution did not adduce sufficient evidence to incriminate Maribe in the murder which occurred in September 19, 2018.
“It is my considered view that the charge brought against the second accused person (Jacque Maribe) was not the proper charge,” she stated.
