President William Ruto has extended a compassionate gesture by donating Sh2 million towards the arrangements for the send-off of the 11 Kenyatta University students tragically lost in a recent accident.

The contribution was handed over to Kenyatta University’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Paul Wainaina, on Sunday by First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto during her attendance at a memorial service in honor of the departed students.

“I would like to present a contribution and donation of Sh2 million from our President William Ruto to support the families and the entire work as we prepare to send off our children,” Mama Rachel stated during the ceremony.

Expressing her sorrow as an alumna of Kenyatta University, Mama Rachel emphasized the personal loss felt by the families of the 11 students. “They were not just students, they were also family members in their respective homes. They were bright students, full of potential and eager to learn, graduate and go out to conquer the world,” she said.

Mama Rachel assured the grieving families of solidarity and support during this trying period, offering love, prayers, and assistance.

Addressing the 47 students still undergoing treatment in hospital, Mama Rachel conveyed her prayers for their swift recovery, expressing hopes for their speedy return to health.
