A businessman has been charged at Kibera Law Court with three counts of issuing a bad cheque contrary to the law
According to the charge sheet, Nderitu allegedly issued a cheque for Sh999,000 from NIC Bank to Rajendra Sanghani on April 16, 2016, knowing that there were insufficient funds in the account. Additionally, he faced another charge for a similar offense on April 26, 2016, at the same location and to the same individual.
Appearing before Senior Principal Magistrate Samson Temu, Nderitu pleaded not guilty to the charges. His defense lawyer requested lenient bail/bond terms, emphasizing Nderitu’s willingness to comply with court directives.
The prosecution did not oppose the request, leading to Nderitu’s release on a bond of Sh400,000 with a surety of the same amount, or a cash bail alternative of Sh100,000.
The state listed six witnesses against Nderitu, and the case is scheduled for pre-trial and directions on April 13, 2024.
