Following allegations of engaging in inappropriate behavior by inserting his genitals into food at the restaurant where he was employed, court documents revealed that Othello Holmes, 27, also possessed child pornography on his phone.
The investigation, initially focused on charges of attempted indecent assault, escalated when Holmes, working as a cook at Kulture restaurant in downtown Houston, was reported by a manager for his lewd actions captured on video.
Constable Alan Rosen expressed profound concern over the disturbing nature of the incident, highlighting the immediate closure of the restaurant upon discovery of Holmes’ behavior.
The things that I have seen and the behavior that I have seen — it is very disturbing,” Constable Alan Rosen said. “When the restaurant found out about this behavior going on, they immediately shut down, to everybody, they had not served a single patron of the restaurant.”
Holmes, admitting to recurrent urges and a history of sexual offenses, was promptly arrested and charged with attempted indecent assault.
Kulture restaurant took swift action, shutting down operations and cooperating with authorities to facilitate Holmes’ arrest.
Subsequent examination of Holmes’ phone uncovered over 100 videos and images of child pornography, leading to additional charges.
Constable Rosen condemned Holmes’ actions, describing him as a predator, and expressed apprehension about potential harm to children. Incriminating videos showing Holmes engaging in inappropriate conduct in the presence of a child were also discovered on his phone.
Holmes, residing with his amputee mother and currently unemployed, appeared in court on April 25, where his bond was set at $100,000 for each charge.
