The challenges facing former Kesses Member of Parliament Dr. Swarup Mishra have intensified as auctioneers have set a date for the sale of his properties in Uasin Gishu County.
This development comes barely two months after operations at his Mediheal hospital in Eldoret were disrupted due to financial difficulties.
Jomuki Auctioneers have scheduled the auction of various parcels of land, including his grand Elgon View residence, for Tuesday in Eldoret town. The properties, owned under Mediheal Group Limited (Swarup Ranjan Mishra and Pallavi Jodhpur Rajsthan), consist of 0.9 hectares of land in Blossom, Kiambaa, Kesses division, 10 acres in Ngeria centre, 4 acres and another 10 acres in Chepkigen, 1.07 acres in Elgon View, Greenvale area, and another 1.086 acres in the same area.
During a visit by the Parliamentary Committee on Health to the Mediheal facility, the management cited the decline in the facility’s fortunes to the government’s withdrawal of medical cover and the non-payment of NHIF funds by the State to the hospital, without any explanation.
