Police are investigating the bizarre death of a Meru pastor who was discovered lifeless in his house.

The decomposing body of a pastor who went missing on Thursday, May 9 was discovered in his house on Sunday, May 12.

Pastor Moses Mugwika, a 50-year- old evangelist attached to the Full Gospel Church, Nchaure branch has been described as a dedicated man and a pillar to his community by his colleagues. His sudden demise has come as a big blow to them.

The clergy’s body was discovered in his house in Gikumene flyover area on Sunday, May 12 by a Sunday school teacher who went in search of him, only to be met by a foul smell emanating from the premises. This raised concern and she immediately notified the local authorities.

According to fellow church leaders Moses was found in a devastating state and it is believed the perpetrators of this cruel act made away with his laptop, iPad and mobile phone before locking him inside the house.

His body was transported to the local mortuary awaiting a postmortem examination as probe into the death commence. The leaders are calling upon authorities to conduct a proper investigation on the case and ensure that the culprits are brought to book.

“We appeal to the police and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to investigate this matter because we would like to know what happened and why,” one of the leader stated.
