Police arrest 22-year-old woman for fatally stabbing husband in Kisii County

Police apprehended a 22-year-old woman on Friday following allegations that she fatally stabbed her 28-year-old husband during a domestic dispute in Kisii County. The tragic incident occurred at their residence in Bonyakakomi village, where the woman purportedly used a kitchen knife in the assault.

According to police reports, the husband, employed as a matatu tout, returned home on Thursday evening, sparking a confrontation with his wife that escalated into a physical altercation.

Subsequently, the wife allegedly inflicted a fatal stab wound to his chest, causing him to collapse just outside their rental house, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Local residents disclosed that the couple had a history of domestic discord, marked by frequent arguments and fights. A team that visited the scene recovered the murder weapon, which had blood stains, and arrested the suspect

. The deceased’s body was moved to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital awaiting post-mortem.

The suspect was presented in court, where police were granted permission to hold her to enable them to conduct further investigations.
