Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Friday in Limuru urged former President Uhuru Kenyatta to forgive those who wronged him in 2022.

Gachagua made these remarks on his way back from Nyandarua County, where he had attended a Thanksgiving event.

He acknowledged past mistakes and assured that they would not be repeated.

Additionally, he emphasized that the Mount Kenya region will always support its leaders, regardless of their actions.

“The other day, I was on the radio and I said we are sorry, I was wrong as well as you people and we seek forgiveness and it will never happen again in Mount Kenya region,” Gachagua.

He emphasized that the people of the Mount Kenya region should be vigilant and wary of those attempting to divide the community.

He further urged the community to support their leaders consistently.

“Never again will the people of the Mount Kenya region allow outsiders to divide them,” the Deputy President declared.

He assured that moving forward, the region will remain united and will call out those being used by opponents to sow discord.

“Going forward, we will speak in one voice, and you should not stub your friend back because he is doing well, support him at all levels,” Gachagua said.

He was accompanied by Nyandarua Deputy Governor Mwangi Mathara, Senator John Methu, Woman MP Faith Gitau, host MP Patrick Kwenya (Kinangop), Members of Parliament Jayne Kihara (Naivasha), Onesmus Ngogoyo (Kajiado North).

Others were Njuguna Kiaraho (Ol-Kalou), Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei, George Gachagua (Ndaragwa) and Samuel Parashina (Kajiado South), Members of County Assembly led by the Speaker Wachira Waiganjo and Magumu Ward MCA Hussein Ndung’u, Stephen Muriithi (Nominated), among others.
