Actress Annie Macaulay-Idibia, ex-wife of singer Innocent ‘2Baba’ Idibia, has made a social media comeback two months after their highly publicized separation.
The news of their 12-year marriage ending was first announced by 2Baba on Instagram. Just sixteen days later, he introduced Natasha Osawaru, the Deputy Majority Leader of the Edo State House of Assembly, as his new fiancée.
Since the announcement, Annie had remained absent from social media and public events—until Thursday, when she rebranded her online presence by deleting all previous Instagram posts and dropping ‘Idibia’ from her name.
Annie Expresses Gratitude
Marking her return, the 40-year-old actress and entrepreneur thanked those who supported her during the difficult period.
“To my family, my friends who came through for me, the support system I have now, all my amazing family here and all over the world—God bless you for the outpouring of love. I appreciate every single one of you and do not take any of it for granted. May the universe continue to be in your favor. Lots of love, Annie Uwana Macaulay.”
2Baba’s Upcoming Wedding
Meanwhile, 2Baba and Ms. Osawaru are actively preparing for their September wedding. The singer was recently spotted shopping with his fiancée at entrepreneur Seyi ‘Seyivodi’ Adekunle’s boutique, where they confirmed the wedding date.
This comes amid ongoing controversy, as 2Baba’s family had previously declared him missing and filed a petition with the State Security Service (SSS) for assistance. Despite his multiple public appearances—including at Senator Ita Giwa’s 79th birthday and at the home of Ms. Osawaru’s grandfather, the Esama of Benin, Gabriel Igbinedion—his family and the SSS have yet to confirm his whereabouts officially.
Annie’s return to the public eye signals a fresh start as she moves forward from the highly publicized breakup.
