Justin Muturi’s security withdrawn

Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi has revealed that his security detail has been withdrawn.

Muturi, who had become increasingly critical of President William Ruto’s administration before his dismissal on March 26, told journalists on Tuesday that his security was revoked on the evening of Monday, around 7:30 p.m. He stated, “Two police officers who were assigned to me due to my previous role as Speaker of the National Assembly were informed not to report for duty today.”

Muturi alleged that the officers were told they would no longer serve under his security detail because he is “fighting the government.”

“If this is another attempt to intimidate me, they have dialed yet another wrong number,” Muturi responded defiantly.

The former CS has been vocal in his criticism of the government, particularly in relation to the abductions of youths that have occurred since last year’s anti-government protests. Muturi has personal experience with the issue, as his own son was abducted and later released.
