Excitement is sweeping across the gaming world as Grand Theft Auto VI has officially been listed on the PlayStation Store, allowing fans to add the game to their wishlists for the first time.
The listing went live shortly after Rockstar Games released the game’s highly anticipated second trailer. It includes brand-new key art, screenshots, and the official GTA 6 logo—cementing the title’s progression from rumor to reality.
Although pre-orders have yet to open, the move signals a major milestone on the road to launch. Most notably, the listing confirms a global release date of May 26, 2026, at 4:00 AM UTC.
As of now, the game is only available to wishlist on PlayStation platforms, with no equivalent listing yet visible on the Xbox Store—something fans of Microsoft’s console have quickly pointed out. Rockstar Games has not provided a timeline for when Xbox users can expect similar access.
While the lack of pre-orders may seem unusual, it’s not unprecedented. Rockstar’s previous major releases followed varied timelines: GTA V allowed pre-orders shortly after its second trailer, while Red Dead Redemption 2 waited until a month after its third. For GTA 6, it appears the publisher is taking a more measured approach, possibly saving pre-orders for a third trailer or a major marketing push later in the year.
With more than a year to go before launch, Rockstar and parent company Take-Two Interactive appear focused on building hype and sustaining momentum rather than initiating early sales.
Still, after over a decade of speculation and waiting since the release of GTA V, the ability to officially wishlist the next chapter in the franchise marks a symbolic turning point for fans: GTA 6 is no longer a leak or a dream—it’s coming.
