Detectives are investigating a robbery incident in which a construction foreman was robbed of Sh307,000 shortly after withdrawing the money from a bank in Kitengela, Kajiado County.

According to police reports, the victim had gone to the Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) branch in Kitengela on May 3 to withdraw cash intended for paying workers at a construction site in the Kimalati area.

After collecting the money, the foreman walked to his vehicle and began driving towards the site. Along the way, he was flagged down by two men dressed in traffic police uniforms, who claimed his vehicle had committed a traffic offense.

The men requested to accompany him to a nearby police station, and the foreman agreed. One of the uniformed men and a civilian at the scene boarded his car. Unbeknownst to him, another vehicle parked nearby began following them.

The two passengers soon revealed themselves to be criminals. They took control of the vehicle and robbed him of the Sh307,000 in cash before driving to Old Kiambu Road in Muthaiga, Nairobi—approximately 50 kilometers from Kitengela—where they abandoned him inside the vehicle.

The suspects fled with the car key, leaving the foreman stranded and disoriented. He sustained minor injuries during the ordeal.

The victim later reported the incident at Muthaiga Police Station. Officers there are now working with their counterparts in Kitengela to investigate the case and track down the suspects.
