A meeting intended to address a teen pregnancy ended in tragedy after a 17-year-old boy allegedly turned violent and fatally stabbed a woman in Kayole, Nairobi.
According to police, the victim was the mother of a 19-year-old woman who had been impregnated by the teenage suspect. The boy had been summoned to the meeting on May 4, 2025, to discuss the situation.
During the meeting, an argument escalated into a physical altercation. Police said the teenager drew a knife and stabbed the woman in the back, piercing her right torso and causing severe bleeding.
The victim’s sister also sustained injuries to her hands and mouth while attempting to intervene. She was admitted to a local hospital for treatment.
The suspect was arrested at the scene, and police recovered the knife used in the attack. Authorities also found a bottle containing a liquid suspected to be turpentine, which the boy had allegedly intended to use to harm himself.
Investigations are ongoing as police determine the next course of action.
