Juja Member of Parliament George Koimburi was allegedly seized by unidentified individuals on Sunday outside a church in Mugutha, Kiambu County, amid growing concern over his whereabouts.

The incident occurred just hours after his supporters publicly called on security agencies to disclose information about the lawmaker’s location.

Koimburi was reportedly apprehended as he was exiting the church premises, and during the commotion, his wife sustained injuries. Koimburi was reportedly arrested while leaving the church in Mugutha, and his wife was injured during the scuffle.

Footage from the scene captured the dramatic moment when the MP was taken away in a silver Subaru Forester, which bore civilian registration plates. Video footage of the incident shows the MP being driven away in a silver Subaru Forester bearing civilian registration plates.

The motive behind the arrest and the identities of those involved remain unclear, as authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
