Apple is gearing up to unveil its much-anticipated iPhone 17 series in mid-September 2025, with devices expected to hit stores by September 19, according to reports by MacRumors and Forbes Tech.

This year’s lineup brings a sleek and surprising addition: the iPhone 17 Air, an ultra-thin model positioned between the base and Pro editions, set to be the thinnest iPhone Apple has ever released.

iPhone 17 Series Lineup

The iPhone 17 series will include four models:

  • iPhone 17
  • iPhone 17 Air
  • iPhone 17 Pro
  • iPhone 17 Pro Max

These devices are expected to feature:

  • 12GB of RAM
  • Upgraded A19 processors
  • Triple-lens rear cameras with a 48MP telephoto lens and up to 3.5x optical zoom on Pro models

iPhone 17 Air: The Showstopper

The iPhone 17 Air is already generating buzz as Apple’s lightest and thinnest device ever:

  • Thickness: Just 5.5mm
  • Weight: Approx. 145g
  • Display: 6.6-inch screen
  • Processor: A19 chip
  • Camera: Single 48MP rear camera
  • Battery: 2,800mAh (may require a battery case for extended use)
  • Connectivity: eSIM-only, no physical SIM slot

The iPhone 17 Air is aimed at users who value portability and minimalist design, without sacrificing performance for everyday use.

Apple has long flirted with thinner devices, but the 17 Air takes things to a new level, potentially rivaling Android alternatives like Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip in compactness—though with a solid, non-folding design.

This model also reflects Apple’s continued move toward portless and SIM-free devices, following the eSIM-only launch of the iPhone 14 in the U.S. market.

For those who want more performance and photography power, the Pro and Pro Max models will cater to content creators and professionals, expected to feature larger batteries and advanced imaging capabilities.

While official Kenya pricing and availability have yet to be announced, Apple’s launches typically go live globally within weeks
