Police in Awendo, Migori County, have launched investigations into the murder of a 35-year-old man identified as Tyson Oluoch Ongacho, who died following a violent scuffle in Kwoyo village.

According to police reports, Ongacho confronted a bodaboda rider on the night of the incident. The confrontation escalated into a fight, during which the rider allegedly stabbed Ongacho in the neck and turned a metal rod against him. Ongacho collapsed by the roadside, where his body was discovered the following morning.

The suspect was later arrested by locals and handed over to police for processing and possible arraignment. Officers moved Ongacho’s body to the J.M. Kariuki Hospital Mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.

In retaliation, angry residents set ablaze two houses belonging to the suspect’s father, escalating tensions in the area.

Police have urged locals to remain calm as investigations continue.
