Shock has gripped Kawatut village in Kolowa, Baringo County, after a man allegedly hacked his three-year-old son to death in a brutal attack.

According to police reports, the suspect, armed with a panga, assaulted the child, inflicting deep cuts on the head, neck, and chest. The minor died instantly as his mother raised the alarm, prompting neighbors to rush to the homestead.

Suspect on the Run

The father immediately fled the scene and is currently being pursued by detectives. Authorities say they are working closely with locals to track him down and establish the motive behind the heinous killing.

Body Moved for Autopsy

Police officers who visited the scene moved the child’s body to a nearby mortuary pending postmortem examination. Investigations into the incident remain ongoing.

The killing has left residents in shock, with community leaders condemning the act and urging parents to seek peaceful ways of resolving domestic disputes instead of resorting to violence.
