Public figure Jaymo Ule Msee has officially converted to Islam, marking a major personal and spiritual milestone in his life.
The conversion was formalised through the recitation of the Shahada, Islam’s core declaration of faith, during a guided ceremony conducted according to Islamic tradition.
The Shahada is the primary requirement for embracing Islam and is universally recognised by Muslims across the world, regardless of culture or language.
How the Conversion Ceremony Was Conducted
The ceremony followed the traditional call-and-response format, where Jaymo repeated sacred Arabic phrases after a guide.
He recited the words “an la ilaha illa Allah,” affirming belief in the oneness of God, followed by “wa ashadu anna Muhammadan rasulullah,” declaring Prophet Muhammad as the messenger of God.
Together, the statements form the Shahada, the central creed of Islam and the gateway into the faith.
Reference to Issa (Jesus) Included
The ceremony also included references to Issa, the Islamic name for Jesus, who is recognised in Islam as a prophet.
This acknowledgement aligns with Islamic teachings, which require belief in earlier prophets as part of the faith. The inclusion of Issa underscored Jaymo Ule Msee’s acceptance of Islam’s broader theological framework.
The conversion has sparked discussion among followers, with many congratulating him on the significant step in his spiritual journey.
