Former Kasipul parliamentary aspirant Money Bior has sparked online backlash after declining to assist a stranded Grade 10 student from Oyugis, instead directing those seeking help to their elected leaders.
The controversy erupted after a vocal youth from the area, Aynne Noah, commented on one of Bior’s social media posts, appealing to him to intervene and help needy students transition to senior school. In her message, Noah said several Grade 9 learners urgently required support to join school.
“We have Grade 9 students in need now. Changamka waingie shule please,” she wrote.
However, Bior dismissed the appeal, bluntly telling her to contact the area’s sitting lawmaker. “Pigia mheshimiwa wako?” he responded.
Unmoved by his reply, Noah warned the businessman against returning to the electorate with promises ahead of the 2027 General Election. She accused him of seeking publicity during the previous polls and cautioned residents against trusting him again.
“I knew you were clout chasing with that Sh5 million. Do not come back here in 2027 with a lot of promises; we will chase you,” she wrote.
Her remarks appeared to anger Bior, who responded with insults, further escalating the exchange and drawing mixed reactions from social media users. Many criticised the former MP candidate for his response, arguing that leaders and aspiring leaders should show empathy toward struggling families, while others defended his stance, saying elected officials should be held accountable for such issues.
