Azym Dossa, the founding director and former Managing Director of Easy Coach, has passed away, the company has announced.

In a statement confirming his death, Easy Coach paid tribute to his transformative leadership.

“Mr. Dossa’s vision, leadership and dedication shaped Easy Coach from its earliest days and left a lasting legacy that will always be part of who we are as a company,” part of the statement read.

A Legacy in Kenya’s Transport Industry

Dossa founded Easy Coach in 2003, building it into one of Kenya’s most recognised long-distance bus companies. He is widely credited with pioneering customer-focused innovations in the sector, including being among the first to introduce passenger lounges at booking offices.

Under his leadership, the company expanded its footprint across major routes, setting new standards in comfort and reliability.

Retirement After Two Decades at the Helm

In January 2025, Dossa stepped down from active management, ending more than 20 years at the helm of the transport firm.

He cited health challenges and age as the reasons for leaving his renowned corner office at the company’s main premises at Railways Go-Down along Haile Selassie Avenue in Nairobi.

His passing marks the end of an era for Easy Coach and Kenya’s public transport sector, where he leaves behind a lasting corporate and entrepreneurial legacy.
