Comedian-turned-musician Vanessa Akinyi, popularly known as Cartoon Comedian, has reportedly separated from her Nigerian partner Rotimi of Africa, with the two now focusing on co-parenting their young son.
Rotimi confirmed the development while responding to fans online, stating that although their romantic relationship has ended, they remain committed to raising their child together. The couple welcomed their first child in late 2025.
“But we’ve been officially separated. Only co-parenting our blessed son,” Rotimi wrote in response to a fan who had expressed support for the couple.
In a separate post, the Nigerian creative shared a family photo showing himself, Cartoon Comedian and their child dressed in matching Christmas pyjamas, signalling an amicable co-parenting arrangement despite the split.
Rotimi also opened up about the reasons behind their separation, claiming that constant public criticism and online pressure played a major role in straining their relationship.
“You didn’t only see it coming, y’all made it happen by constantly bullying her for choosing peace and family over career,” he said.
“Now that you’ve gotten your wish, I hope you’re happy.”
He further claimed that he had supported Cartoon Comedian’s personal and professional growth during their time together, suggesting that the relationship had been beneficial to both parties before the pressure became overwhelming.
The revelation has sparked mixed reactions online, with fans debating the impact of public scrutiny on celebrity relationships, while others praised the pair for prioritising their child through co-parenting.
Neither Cartoon Comedian nor her representatives have issued a separate public statement on the matter.
