A police recruit collapsed and died while undergoing training at the General Service Unit (GSU) Field Training Campus in Magadi, Kajiado County.
The deceased has been identified as Cheme Chombo Cheme, who was undertaking a recruit training course at the facility.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on Saturday when the recruit suddenly developed complications and lost consciousness during training. He was immediately rushed to Magadi Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Due to the severity of his condition, he was later referred to Kenyatta National Hospital for specialised treatment. However, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Police said the recruit’s family has since been informed of the tragic incident. The cause of death is yet to be established, pending further medical examinations.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
