Car dealer Khalif Kairo has announced the closure of the physical office for his car dealership Kai & Karo located at Diamond Plaza, saying the move is part of a strategic transition toward a fully digital automotive platform.
In a statement, Kairo said the decision reflects the changing nature of the automobile market, which is increasingly shifting to online platforms.
“As the automotive market becomes increasingly digital, we are transitioning Kai & Karo into a fully digital automotive platform — making it easier to buy, sell, and source vehicles from anywhere. As part of this shift, we will temporarily close our physical office and operate through a streamlined digital model. All our services remain fully operational,” he said.
Auction Notice Surfaces
However, an alleged auction notice issued by Nairobi Connection Services Auctioneers suggests the closure could be linked to a landlord directive requiring the dealership to vacate the premises over an undisclosed amount of rent arrears.
According to the notice, the auction firm has scheduled the sale of office equipment belonging to Kai & Karo on Wednesday, March 11, at the Diamond Plaza parking lot starting at 11:30 a.m.
Items Listed for Auction
Among the items listed for auction are a reception counter, office furniture, computers, a money-counting machine, a small safe, a microwave, promotional banners and dustbins, among other equipment.
The development comes as Kairo maintains that the business is shifting its operations online, with services continuing through its digital platform despite the closure of the physical office.
