Dancehall legend Vybz Kartel has dismissed widespread claims that he will be performing in Kenya this May, warning fans and promoters against engaging with individuals advertising unauthorized events in his name.
In a statement, the Jamaican star said neither he nor his management team is aware of any planned East African tour being circulated online.
“It has come to my attention that a post is circulating claiming that I will be embarking on an East African tour in May 2026,” Kartel said. “Let me be absolutely clear: neither my management nor I have any knowledge of, or involvement in, any such tour. No East African shows have been announced or confirmed by my team.”
Kartel Warns Fans Against Possible Scam
The dancehall icon cautioned fans that individuals promoting the alleged concerts are acting without authorization and may be misleading the public.
Kartel urged fans, promoters and entertainment venues to avoid sending money or making bookings with anyone advertising the supposed shows.
“For the avoidance of doubt, all official announcements regarding Vybz Kartel appearances and tours will come directly from my verified platforms or from my authorized representatives only,” he said.
Only Two Representatives Authorized
Kartel further clarified that only two individuals are officially authorized to represent him — his manager Linton T.J. White and attorney Jason Mitchell.
He warned that anyone falsely using his name to promote events will face consequences.
“Anyone falsely using my name to promote unauthorized events will be dealt with accordingly,” the statement added.
The clarification comes amid growing excitement among Kenyan fans following online posters suggesting the dancehall star would headline concerts across East Africa in May 2026.
