Digital creator Pritty Vishy has called out fans over what she describes as exaggerated reactions to the separation of comedian Timothy Kimani, popularly known as Njugush, and his wife Celestine Ndinda.
Pritty Questions Public Reaction
In a strongly worded Instagram post, Pritty expressed disbelief at how some Kenyans have responded to the couple’s breakup.
“It’s just funny how Kenyans are acting up on Njugush and Cele’s divorce,” she wrote, questioning why many seemed unwilling to accept the separation.
Criticism of Unrealistic Expectations
She argued that societal pressure often forces couples to maintain a “perfect” image, even when relationships are struggling.
According to her, such expectations can trap individuals in toxic marriages.
“Hizi expectations zenu ndo zinafanya watu wengi wasitoke kwa toxic marriage,” she said, adding that some relationships are marked by infidelity and unhappiness despite outward appearances.
Against Forced Reconciliation
Pritty also dismissed calls for the couple to reconcile simply to preserve fans’ belief in marriage.
“Ati wareconcile tu juu because of them I believe in marriage… so wareconcile juu yako?” she posed, insisting that personal decisions should not be dictated by public opinion.
Njugush Confirms Separation
Her remarks follow a recent statement by Timothy Kimani, who confirmed that he and Ndinda had mutually agreed to part ways after careful consideration.
The couple noted that they continue to co-parent and prioritize the well-being of their children.
Ongoing Public Debate
The situation has sparked broader discussions about privacy, relationships, and the pressure placed on public figures to maintain idealized marriages.
Pritty’s comments add to a growing conversation urging respect for personal choices, even among high-profile couples.
