Mystery continues to surround the death of Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) student Ann Odhiambo Adhiambo after an autopsy established that she died from multiple internal injuries, deepening investigations into the case.
Ann’s body was discovered inside a room at Kenyatta Hostel within the KMTC Nairobi Campus at around 11 p.m. on July 7, 2026, before the incident was reported to police.
Detectives are treating the case as a suspected murder after preliminary investigations indicated that the student had sustained injuries.
A post-mortem examination conducted at the Nairobi Funeral Home on Friday revealed that Adhiambo may have died due to lack of oxygen.
The autopsy also established that she had black marks around her tongue, bite marks on her abdomen and blood stains around her nose, findings that investigators believe suggest she may have been assaulted before her death.
Investigators are also examining reports that, shortly before her body was discovered, Adhiambo had been involved in a heated disagreement with fellow students over a missing pair of trousers.
KMTC Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kelly Oluoch confirmed the student’s death, describing it as a tragic loss.
He said Adhiambo had enrolled at the institution in September 2024 and was pursuing a Higher Diploma in Clinical Medicine.
Police have continued with investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding her death and identify those responsible.
