Police are investigating a horrific murder case in Kaseveni Village, Kathiani Constituency, Machakos County, after a neighbour’s dog led residents to the bodies of a pregnant woman and her two children.
The shocking discovery was made after the dog returned home carrying what residents initially believed was a cow’s leg.
Dog’s Discovery Leads to Human Remains
According to residents, the dog had wandered into a nearby thicket before returning with what was later confirmed to be a human leg, prompting villagers to follow its trail.
The search led to the discovery of the bodies of a 28-year-old woman, her two children, and her unborn baby. Reports indicate the woman was approximately seven months pregnant.
Police Investigating Suspected Murders

According to information shared by residents, the man had married the woman and had recently been allowed to live with her and her two children, who were reportedly not his biological children.
The bodies were discovered on June 15, 2026.
Kathiani Sub-County Police Commander George Kashmir said members of the public reported the discovery after finding human remains in Wandathe Village within Kathiani Sub-County.
