A court in Mombasa has allowed the police to detain a Nigerian national who is accused trafficking Sh1.9 million worth of heroin.
Martin Ike was arrested in his home country Nigeria and extradited to Kenya on suspicion of trafficking 647.7 grams of heroin into Kenya from Tanzania.
Mombasa Senior Resident Magistrate Vincent Adet has ordered that Ike be detained at Shimo la Tewa prison.
The case will be mentioned on January 17, 2023.
