Property of unknown value was destroyed Friday morning after a fire broke out at the Pumwani Maternity Hospital in Nairobi. The Nairobi County Government has said that the fire broke out at around 3:30 am in the pharmacy store.
Firefighters from the county rescue services team rushed to the hospital and managed to put out the fire. Anastacia Nyalita, the County Executive in charge of Health said that there were no injuries or casualties were reported from the incident.
“The Nairobi City County fire and the rescue team responded in a record of 10 minutes and put out the fire. There were no casualties,” she said.
A team from the county is currently accessing the damage as investigations continue to establish the cause of the fire.
