Kenyan educator Rose Tata Wekesa has made history by conducting the longest science class ever, lasting an impressive 62 hours, 33 minutes, and 34 seconds.
Wekesa is a teacher at St Austin’s Academy Lavington, Nairobi.
Her record-breaking teaching marathon took place at the Multimedia University of Kenya, solidifying her place in the annals of history.
Wekesa had to overcome sleep deprivation and fatigue to secure this extraordinary victory. In an interview with Citizen Digital, she admitted that it was a challenging task.
“I have been working on building my endurance, I have a team behind me that has helped with the lesson plan. The past three days, I stayed awake for 44 hours to train my body to stay awake,” she said.
Despite the physical challenges, Wekesa remains motivated by the opportunity to impart knowledge to the younger generation.
She advised aspiring teachers to blend their passion for a subject with patience for their students, emphasizing the importance of dedication and perseverance in the field of education.
